Challenge

When Munchkin moved from Sketch to Figma, we saw an opportunity to build a design system that actually worked, not just a component library, but something the team would genuinely want to use. The munchkin.com redesign was the forcing function.

Goal

Build an atomic design system that could scale with the brand, starting with the foundations (color, typography, grids, spacing) and building up to reusable components that kept the experience consistent across every page type and screen size.

Outcome

The new design system became the go-to foundation for the entire digital team. It streamlined our workflow, made collaboration easier, and gave designers and developers a shared language. We saw faster build times, fewer design inconsistencies, and a much smoother handoff process. The system also made it easier to roll out updates and new features across the site, without reinventing the wheel every time. It helped create a more cohesive, user-friendly experience on munchkin.com that could keep growing with the brand.
